What makes The Generational Shift different from a car rental company?Our purpose is not to simply rent cars out to people. Our purpose is to foster strong relationships with our clients and create an unforgettable experience tailored specifically for them, and we do it through cars. People spend a lot of time in cars. We believe the element of driving should not be a monotonous and routine part of life, but instead, it should be an enjoyable experience just like all the other wonderful things in life that bring us joy and happiness.

Why should clients pick The Generational Shift over other companies?Our business model is customer service centric. We thrive on surprise and delight and bringing more value to our clients than what they pay for. Our clients do not book cars with us. They book experiences.

What kind of cars are and will be on the fleet?We currently have economy, electric, and luxury cars. The business will continue to scale towards luxury cars, but different situations call for different cars. We will continue to have a mix of inventory, but all our cars will be high quality products that will deliver the niche experiences that our guests are looking for.

Do you offer delivery and pickup options?We offer delivery options within a certain mile range.

Can clients leave their personal car upon picking up the car they rent?Clients have the option to leave their car in our possession, and if they choose to do so, we will tend to their car and prepare it for them to pick it up at the end of their trip if the guest so choose.

Should clients wash the car upon return?It is acceptable and appreciated if a guest wishes to vacuum out the car they rent, but we ask that the clients do not wash any of the cars during their trip or upon return. We utilize certain washing products in efforts to protect and maintain the integrity of our vehicles.

Should a guest wash Chico?Absolutely not. A guest may vacuum Chico out if they so choose, but we ask that the guests do not wash Chico.

What gas does Chico take?a. Chico takes 93 gas only. b. The gas tank is located at the front of the car on the passenger side.

Is Chico push to start?No. Chico has a key that needs to be inside the car to start it, however, there is an internal key fob on the left side of the wheel that is stationary in the car. The internal key fob remains in the port beside the wheel, and the fob will not turn unless the main key is inside the vehicle.

How do you open the trunk?Chico has two trunks: in the front of the car and the back of the car. Chico is a mid-engine car, so the engine lives behind the seats. Therefore, there is trunk space under the hood. The front space can be opened with the key, and there is also a button/flap located on the rocker panel underneath the doorsill. This is visible when the guest opens the driver door. The flap for the trunk is in the same spot. Simply lifting up the flap will open the trunk. ***To close both trunks, gently lower them all the way down, and press them to until the latch clicks.

How do I unlock the passenger door from inside the car?There is a lock symbol on the dash board above the middle console and screen. Simply push the button to unlock the passenger door.

How do I lock/unlock the car?Simply place the key card underneath the camera located on the side of the door. The camera is eye-level when approaching the car. When the card is placed underneath the camera, the horn will lightly honk, and the mirrors will fold out. When locking the car, place the card in the same area and the horn will lightly honk again, and the mirrors will fold in.

How does the car turn on and off?Loki turns on when you open the door and sit inside as he can sense the key card once it is in the car. To turn the car off, simply get out of the car and walk away. Loki will turn off when the door closes and the key card is removed with you. Loki will also lock himself automatically about 10 seconds after you walk away from the car. You can also place the key card on the side of the door to lock him yourself if you wish. Even if you forget to lock it, and even if Loki does not lock on his own, we receive notifications surrounding Loki on our phones, and he will let us know if he happens to be unlocked for whatever reason. Our team will lock Loki from our phones.

How do you put Loki in drive?After fastening your seatbelt and pressing the break, move the right drive stalk down to put Loki in drive. Move the drive stalk up to put Loki in reverse. Push the button at the end of the drive stalk to put Loki in park.

Where can I charge Loki?Charging can be done at either a Tesla supercharging station, or at a generic electric charging station. Most hotels offer complimentary charging if you are a guest at the hotel. Some generic charging stations require you to pay for charging. However, if one of our clients uses a Tesla supercharger while renting Loki, the client will receive the fastest possible charge at no cost to the client. The fee to charge Loki when utilizing a Tesla supercharger is associated with Loki’s Tesla account, and the client does not have to pay for it.

How do I charge Loki?a. When using a Tesla supercharger, simply back in towards the station, and park as closely as you can to the station. The charge port is located at the rear of the car on the driver’s side. To open the charge port, simply touch the home screen > charging > open charge port. You can also push the charge port with your hand and it will open. When at the Tesla supercharger, if you point the chord to the charge port and push the center button, the charge port will open. b. To begin charging once the port is open, simply plug the chord into the charge port. The Tesla “T” on the charge port will flash and then turn green. Once the “T” turns green, the car has begun to charge. c. The main screen inside the car will display that charging has begun, and it will tell you how long the charge will take to complete. d. Charging at generic charging stations can be done in a similar fashion.

Can I leave Loki on the charge?a. ***If a client is using the Tesla supercharger, once charging is complete, it is imperative that Loki be removed from the charger immediately upon completion. Idling fees will accrue if Loki is left on a Tesla Supercharger after charging is complete. b. ***Leaving Loki on the charger at a generic charging station is not unhealthy for him and he can be left on the charger overnight. However, be sure to confirm payment and charge usage details with the generic charging companies if you choose to utilize them.

Can I wash Loki?We ask that clients please do not wash Loki. Clients are welcome to vacuum him out upon return, but please do not wash him.
